Under Contract

Exciting news! More things have fallen into place. We now have a place to live. Yes, we are under contract for our new townhome! We put our earnest money down a couple days ago and today we had them do a house inspection! We are so excited and can't help but thinking of decorating and living in our new home. Next step is the appraisal and hundreds of signatures and paperwork. We are scheduled to close on or before June 6th. Here is the picture of the outside (we are the end unit) and I'll post more pictures when I can get Jeff to load the pictures we took.

{Cross your Fingers and Say a Prayer for Us}

Planning on where to live and what our married life plan would be has been an adventure and a crazy roller coaster ride. We had both been planning on moving to Layton area for school and then I got offered the job at Comcast and that flipped everything around. If I didn't love my job and love the company I wouldn't have allowed it to flip our lives upside down. Jeff decided he didn't want to be put on a waiting list for the nursing program at Weber either, so he applied for the new direct entrance at UVU. He got accepted and I transferred and get to finish my degree there and under a full tuition scholarship. Things just have fallen into place pretty quickly, like its just meant to be.

Jeff has to get a new job closer to the school, which he has applied for multiple positions. He wants to get a job that broadens his medical and nursing resume and so right now he is being picky. He has had offers to work with home health care, which wouldn't be bad but he wants more of a challenge. So he didn't accept anything yet. He has been in a fairly extensive interview selection for the Oncology Department at Utah Valley Regional Center (the cancer floor, in case you were wondering.) He has such an amazing resume and is in the final group right now and is meeting with them on Monday. {cross your fingers and say a prayer for him.} I'm so proud at how hard he works and each of his employers he leaves are so sad and beg him to stay. His current boss even wrote him a letter of recommendation for him to give potential employers. How many supervisors really care what happen to you after you leave?

Party Weekend

Our favorite thing about he past 2 weekends has been all the time we have been able to spend with family. This weekend was the farewell weekend to Jeff's oldest sister, Cathy. Lene, Cathy's new hubby, got a new assignment in Naples, Italy with the Navy. Such and exciting adventure for them and even more exciting she is 5 months pregnant with the Edminster's first grandchild. Out of all the places around the world, I think he got the best place!
I'm so JEALOUS!!!

We are so bummed that we don't get to see the little guy, except through skype. We'll just have to take a trip to Italy in the next year, no arguements here.

This weekend we did an early baby shower for Cathy and it was really fun. They played a word scramble game that made me realize that I really suck at word scrambles, I got 4 out of like 15 words. A game I've never heard of before was a game where you took the parents name and you make as many names out of the letters for the baby (had to be boy names.) It was a great shower and I'm glad that I could be a part of it. A couple hours after Jeff's family had invited 2 neighbor families over for a BBQ and to plan the upcoming Lake Powell trip. That I am going to miss and Jeff is probably going to have to miss as well. Sunday was a family farewell dinner with all of Jeff's cousins and his grandma. I love spending time with Jeff's family its always fun and filled with lots of stories.

It was a great weekend, but sad to have to say good-bye to Cathy. We are so excited for your new adventure and we will miss you!

Mother's Day

We had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend. Jeff had to work for most of the day, so that might not have been so wonderful, but I got to spend a good chunk of the day with my Moosman family. I am so lucky that my mom and my dad's side of the family are close and still hang out to this day; weird concept for most separated parents. Last week I got a text from my aunt saying that they were going to have a Mother's Day brunch at her house and to bring my mom with me. So we went!

It was so much fun to sit and talk to everyone and meet all the new babies I hadn't seen yet. They are so so sweet and precious. I'm so happy for all my cousins to be starting their new families. My grandma told me these baby makes 43 GREAT grandchildren and 1 GREAT GREAT grandchild. Can you believe that!? Crazy. We found out that my cousin Chelsea is now 3 months pregnant and expecting her first child! Congratulations Mason and Chelsea you will be wonderful parents!

We ate and chatted for hours with everyone. Then all the talk about babies started another activity somehow... Baby Gender Predicting. Oh goodness. All the girls got together and with a long thing of floss did a test to see what gender and how many babies you would have. Basically you put your wedding ring on the string and then someone holds it above your palm and if it starts to rock back and forth its a boy and if its in a circle a girl. Pretty simple, not very scientific. But if you looked at all the faces watching each girl do it, you'd think it was a life changing and most accurate thing in the world. I love my family and enjoy spending as much time with them as I can.

I spent the rest of the afternoon with my mom and grandma just hanging out in the living room. Then that night I went to Jeff's house to celebrate with them. We had an amazing dinner and tried some swiss chard (not anyone's favorite, but fun to try). Then we opened presents and just sat and talked. I love days I don't have to do anything, but spend time with those we love. Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers!

Beautiful Saturday

Ever since being engaged I haven't had a day that didn't involve doing something towards our life that starts in August. I am so grateful for this past weekend was exactly what I needed. This weekend I got to spend the whole day Saturday with Makaela, who I never get to see. We went to Jordan and Chelsea's wedding in the afternoon. It was a beautiful reception and Chelsea looked amazing. I can't believe it how just 9 years ago  Chelsea and I would walk from each of hour houses to meet half way and then walk back to our house. Throughout high school and football Jeff and Jordan were always together. We are so happy for them and I know they will have a life filled with love and happiness.

The rest of the afternoon was spent running errands and getting presents for Mother's Day. That night we went to another reception for the adorable couple Jon and Ashley Feller! The reception was so cute and it was so fun to see so many people from high school. I'm pretty sure the whole night was filled with old friends catching up on what we have been up to since graduation. Sad how you lose contact with people you used to see every day, but that's life. The reception was beautifully decorated and filled with love. I love seeing all the high school sweethearts have lasted throughout the years and are now getting married. I know its supposed to be rare, but our class is defying all odds. I love it!! Wedding season has begun and I'm getting more and more excited for my day!!
The rest of the night was spent with staring at the clouds on Makaela's tramp and soaking up the good weather (that only lasted about another 2 hours.) We stayed up till after 2 am talking about boys, memories, the future, and more boys. I have surely missed Mackers and wish she wasn't staying in Dixie till the fall. Exciting new about Mackers, she GRADUATED with her Bachelor's degree!!!! She is absolutely amazing and has a Bachelor's degree just after turning 21! I'm so proud of her and of course jealous! This is a cute "yard card" her mom did for her, which of course embarrasses her.
Cute idea huh?
Congratulations to Makaela and all the newly weds!!!

Wedding Slacker

I have slacked on the wedding planning... in fact I think I didn't do anything in the month of April about the actual wedding day. I got side tracked by planning for our home and just daily life. So on Saturday I decided I needed to do something... and something that would make a dent. I met with the reception center's wedding planner and we ironed out a bunch of details. Followed lunch and meeting with the invitation lady. Oh dear. I didn't think it'd be a big deal, but there was so many designs and fonts and papers, oh my. Well we got all the wording for the invitations and inserts done and picked the paper. I haven't decided on a font or which of the five styles I want (will decided when I pick our engagement pictures for the invites.) I also have the dates for our engagement sessions and bridals figured out. Hooray!! So here is what I accomplished on Saturday:
  • Wedding Day Schedule
  • Reception Food
  • The brunch menu
  • The luncheon floor plan
  • The reception floor plan
  • Set appointment to meet with the florist, cake lady, and last invitation
  • Plus we have started registering, I'm indecisive and its a problem.
  • Decided on a honeymoon destiation. Whoot.
Well I still have a ton to do, but I feel like a major dent was made. Thank goodness.  I do need some good ideas on where we can do our engagements. We get 3 locations, I already know one and its a secret, but I want something that's different and romantic. Any ideas? Please help.
