Winner Winner Chicken Dinner

So I have to do a little bragging today. First off I want to say that I love my work and couldn't have found a better company to work for. To give you just a quick back story. As you know I have worked a ridiculous amount of overtime the last couple weeks. My work decided to do a contest and whoever had the most hours and the highest stats would get to go into the money machine. There is 500 people and they took the top 50 people. The top 50 would be given the opportunity to be in a money machine; i.e. the machine with money flying around crazy and you frantically grab everything you can. They took the top 50 and the top person go the most time and then it went down from there per person.

This is very similar to the machine we were in... just imagine crammed into a little conference room
From some amazement beyond me I was at the top of the list. so I got 92 seconds in the machine and had to go first. I can't even tell you how nervous and clueless I was. I went in with absolutely no strategy and like 30 people watching... including some random camera crew (no idea what they were doing there.) So I got in with my awesome safety glasses and the monopoly money all went flying. I grabbed everything I could and just stuffed it down my shirt. In the middle the dollars stopped flying and i had to unclog the fan, but all was good. It went by really fast and was really intense.

All the money was blue monopoly money so you didn't know what you were grabbing. Half of the bills all said "sorry try again" and then the others either had gift cards to different places ranging from $50 to $250. Then there were prizes like grills, ipads, ipods, 43" flat screen tvs, and some other prizes. There were only 2 of each of the bigger prizes. Then there was 1 grand prize amongst the hundreds of bills $2000 dream vacation American Express gift card.  After all was said and done I got about $200 in gift cards (mostly American Express, 2 Walmart, and 2 gas gift cards); I got one of the tvs!!; and best of all I got the $2000 dream vacation!!!! I can't even tell you how excited I was to get that. Honeymoon paid for CHECK! Bad news.... all prizes have to be reported as taxed income at the end of the year. boo. Anyways, I couldn't be more excited. Jeff was super happy (he came with to watch) and I had to be interviewed by the random camera crew again. Not sure why they were there.

Also, engagements had to be rescheduled; due to the unpredictable random thunderstorms of Utah. That's alright still an AMAZING day!!!

Day to Day Changes

We are starting to feel like every week, if not every day, our lives changed dramatically.
Its pretty exhausting to be completely honest, but we LOVE it!
2 weeks ago Jeff had his last day at South Davis Community Hospital. He was sad to leave, because he has grown so close to the staff and patients.
That's the upside and downside of working at a long term care facility.
Jeff was lucky because he had a week scheduled off work to go to Lake Powell, which ended up being the last week of his 2 week notice. So he got to spend a week in this beautiful place.
I am jealous, I had to stay home to go to work.

While Jeff was gone I was extremely busy. I still had some overtime shifts left which was a perfect timing. I started to feel like I lived at work. I was there from 7am to 10pm for over 2 weeks straight. Some days I even did my hair and makeup while at work. I had a 2 hour break between my shifts so I would take naps and get food. No idea how I survived.
After my overtime shifts ended I was busy running errands, including picking out engagement picture clothing, picking a place to do pictures, getting things figured out for Jeff to move into our place, and getting new phones.

This is my new phone: HTC Sensation. I LOVE IT!!

Jeff's new phone: the Samsung Galaxy S. Can't tear him away from it.

Jeff started his new job yesterday and he already loves it! He sent me text messages throughout the day bragging about how amazing of a hospital and the services they offer. I felt so bad that he had to leave his job to move to Orem, but I feel much better knowing he loves his new job already. The bad part is that he has to travel from Bountiful to Orem at 5am, but fortunately not much longer. Our tenant is moving out by the end of the week, so Jeff will soon be living in our place!
We have a ton to do in order to get him moved in, i.e clothing, putting new carpet, painting, and moving all the furniture and stuff in.
We are so excited thought to start to make it into our home!.
We have 51 days till we get married and it can't come fast enough.
..... except I still have a TON to do before.

P.S. If anyone wants to help, we would appreciate it.

A Quick Capture of our Lives

It has been a very busy week and lots has happened! As you know we officially closed on our house and ever since then we have been planning and talking about all the things we want to do and all the things we need to buy. There is so much and I'm starting to feel like so little time to get all the stuff ready for when we are married, not to mention all the wedding planning and details.

WEDDING DETAILS
  • 3 of the 4 bridesmaid dresses came in! and They fit everyone perfect and absolutely love the color
  • I had my first fitting for my bolero. My seamstress is absolutely AMAZING. I told her exactly what I wanted and she would go to the back room for like 5 minutes and come back with a sleeve or the ruffle made so I could get an idea of what it would look like with my dress.
  • Picked out all the flowers
  • Chose the wedding cake and wedding cake flavor
  • Picked out all the decorations for the ceremony, luncheon, and reception!
  • Went over all the other little details for the wedding reception.
 HOUSE DETAILS
  •  My dad came by and looked at how much carpet we are going to need. He offered to put brand new carpet and padding in our condo.
  • We put our names in the utilities
  • We bought a new fridge! Took advantage of some the major sale at Home Depot
  • We've picked out different pieces of furniture that we'll need, i.e kitchen table, bedroom set, TV stand, etc.
  • Got ideas for what we want in each room and color schemes.
  • Bought a couple decor things that I couldn't resist for the kitchen
  • We have looked at the area where we are going to live and found some amazing places to explore. Including Sunflowers a organic whole food market. So in love!
On the job front: Jeff starts his new job at Utah Valley Regional on June 27th! He is working in the surgery department and will be taking care of patients under observation after surgeries and doing wound care. He is so excited for the new position and for all the experiences he will gain from this new position. He is sad to be leaving the people and job at South Davis, because he loves them all! I wish we could move South Davis Hospital with us so he didn't have to leave.

I have been working crazy overtime hours at work and am completely exhausted. My work offered unlimited overtime for a span of a 2 week period. I have to be at work at 7am and leave by 10pm for 15 days straight. Its crazy and I've only about a 3rd of the way done. I just couldn't say no to all the money when we have so many expenses on our plates right now. Oh well, I love my job and it'll be worth it in the end. Not to mention they are doing additional crazy bonuses and big giveaways and you can win anything from a $2,000 dream vacation, gas grills, 43" flat screen tvs, and big money gift cards. At the end of it all the top people will get to win the big prizes AND spend some time in the money machine (like the ones on TV.) I love my job!

Basically, LIFE IS WONDERFUL!!!

The living room. (she has WAY too much furniture)
Master bedroom

We have so many plans to make this our house. We are getting new carpet that's a litter color {courtesy of my dad} and we are going to repaint for our color scheme. I seriously can't wait to see it all done and with our decorations and furniture. It'll be a work in progress and will do bit by bit. The best part is we have room to grow with our family, since there is 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths. I seriously am so excited and the next 2 months are going to be really long just waiting for Jeff and I to be married so we can live under the same house.
